Our Jacksons Road vineyard has a long history of producing stunning Rieslings, with our first Riesling vines planted in 1990. The previous vintages of this wine have won numerous golds and trophies and had excellent reviews. 2014 was a good Riesling vintage in Marlborough and the hand-picked fruit for this wine came into the winery in pristine condition.
Mid, golden straw in colour, this distinctive Riesling has a rich nose of dried apricots, jasmin florals, manuka honey, orange peel, apples and ripe stone-fruit. These initial nuances carry through on the palate, which is immediately appealing, unctuous and moreish and keeps building in intensity with rich, spicy fruits; stone-fruits, citrus, toffee apples, honey and ginger. The acid sweetness balance is impeccable and there is a lovely minerally character running through the wine. This is a crisp, elegant, refreshing wine with loads of appeal. It lingers beautifully leaving a gentle floral, honey and fruity taste in the mouth. This wine is sure to give great pleasure as it ages gracefully and continues to improve and develop even greater depth and charm over time.
